I feel like I'm known for my mixed media collage work and my mugs. Recently, I became obsessed with handmade journals, or junk journals, as some people call them.
I felt compelled to make one for myself and got hooked.
I took two of my first handmade journals to a holiday vendor market last December and sold both! I honestly didn't think they would sell, especially since they're not mainstream items, nor are they inexpensive. I was glad to be wrong!
Off that first sale, I got a commission for 5 more (!) journals. While it was a lot of precise and detailed work, I must have gotten addicted because I can't stop making them. Currently, I have three one-of-a-kind journals for sale here in the shop.
I had a great time constructing them, from choosing and decorating the covers, to picking out the papers and ephemera that would grace the insides. I love making little pockets and envelopes to fill the pages.
I plan to make more and to sell at future vendor markets in Austin.
I am open to commissions if you have an idea/theme for a journal you'd like me to create for you. Contact me at info@teentsyvintage.com.
